The activity of the state police Crotone Police Headquartersin particular of the cars of the General Prevention and Public Relief Office, led to the discovery of a gun with ammunition, some doses of narcotics and the report of a person.
The gun, a 22 caliber semi-automatic Walther brand with two magazines and 32 cartridges, was found by officers in a planter in Piazza Albani, in the historic center of the cityduring a territory control service. The operators, noticing some soil scattered around the planter, decided to inspect it more carefully, finding the weapon and ammunition in a hidden casing. The gun, examined by the Provincial Scientific Police Cabinet, was found to be in perfect working order and was seized from unknown persons. Investigations are underway, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Crotone.
In another operation, officers patrolling in the historic center, during activities to combat drug dealing, stopped a 44-year-old man from Crotone who, at the sight of the police car, accelerated his pace to evade control. Following a search, the operators found 3 grams of cocaine divided into six doses ready for sale. The man was reported at large to the same Judicial Authority for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing.
