The trial comes from a postponement by the Supreme Court which had annulled the previous sentence by ordering a new trial. The «Scipione» operation, which resulted in the blitz of March 2020 with 19 arrests, is an investigation by the Carabinieri of the Messina Provincial Command. Interceptions and stakeouts revealed a group that was supplied by Calabrians with home deliveries, on a weekly basis, of loads of cocaine and marijuana transported in the false bottoms of cars and destined for drug dealing squares. The carabinieri also discovered one of the drug hideouts, under the sand, on the coast of Africo Nuovo.
