«The mayors of the Province of Vibo Valentia, interpreting the concerns of their communities, make a united appeal to the national and regional institutions to adopt concrete and structural measures to support families, workers, farmers, hauliers and businesses hit hard by the increase in fuel, energy and production costs». This is what the mayors of 35 municipalities in the province of Vibo Valentia wrote in a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, the President of the Calabria Region and the President of the Province.

«The end of the blocks – they write – does not mean the end of the battle. In fact, the critical issues that pushed thousands of farmers, hauliers and workers to demonstrate remain unresolved: the increase in production costs, the reduction of company margins, the difficulties of the agricultural and logistics sector and the historic infrastructural disadvantages that penalize Calabria. For this reason we ask for the opening of a serious and permanent dialogue with the territory and the adoption of structural interventions capable of guaranteeing certain prospects for businesses and serenity for families”.
