A significant break along the Alaco aqueduct pipeline was identified yesterday evening in the Pizzoni area, causing the interruption of the water service towards Vibo Valentia, Pizzoni, Sant’Antonio di Pizzo, Stefanaconi and Sant’Angelo di Gerocarne.

A technical team from Sorical arrived on site to start the repair work during the night.

According to initial estimates, the compromised pressure table could lead to water shortages starting from today’s morning in the municipalities served by the line. Further updates are expected in the next few hours, as soon as the recovery times become clearer.

Schools closed in Vibo

Briefly, an urgent communication was received from Sorical regarding a break in the water network in the Alaco area, therefore today there will also be an interruption in supply in the municipal area of Vibo Valentia.
In light of this, all schools of all levels in the municipality of Vibo Valentia will remain closed on Monday 17 November 2025.
