Good cuisine (fresh fish from the Tyrrhenian Sea cooked in various ways) mouth-watering, music, games, socializing. Favelloni, a hamlet of Cessaniti in the Vibonese area, is preparing to experience the fifth edition of the swordfish festival: appointment on Friday 4 August from 8pm. An initiative that over time has become increasingly structured thanks to the commitment and dedication put in place by theJohn Paul II parish oratory. In fact, the proceeds of the festival will be used for the activity of the oratory which in recent years has distinguished itself in the area as the driving force behind multiple social recreational activities: music and English courses, numerous group activities with children and teenagers, the summer grest, the increasingly flourishing activity of the Asd Cessaniti Academy on the synthetic pitch of the oratory.

Returning to the festival, there are many specialties that tourists and visitors can taste: parmigiana and swordfish meatballs, fileja with swordfish and aubergines, grilled swordfish, sandwich with swordfish. An organizational machine already at work thanks to the skilful guidance of the young and tireless parish priest Andrea Campenni and a cohesive group of young and old constantly proposing activities of various kinds in the country.

This year the evening will be enriched by numerous other activities related to the festival: there will be a children’s village, with inflatables, face painting, popcorn and cotton candy. In Piazza Scalabrini, live music with the duo Francesca and Romina. Jugglers and fire-breathers will enliven the evening together with the traveling street band and the dances of the giants. From 10.30 pm, in Piazza San Filippo, the performance of the folk group “I peddaroti”. The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Cessaniti, the Province of Vibo Valentia, the Regional Council of Calabria, Gal and Asd Cessaniti Academy
