The redevelopment work continues on the former Quasimodo villa, destined to be transformed into a new city square. As some shots taken this morning show, the area is now completely clear and the land clearing activity continues, with the passage of the underground services foreseen by the project.
It is still early to talk about a definitive change, but the transformation is now evident. After the demolition of the surrounding walls – the first symbolic step of the restyling – the intervention restored a sense of openness and continuity with the rest of the neighbourhood.
The work, financed by Messina Servizi is part of a broader plan to enhance public spaces. The objective is to give citizens back a meeting and socializing place in place of the old house, with new pedestrian paths and a more accessible green area.
At the moment, the presence of the vehicles of the company in charge and the first technical preparations for the systems are noticeable in the area. If the works proceed according to the timetable, the contract is estimated to be concluded April 2026.
