Goletta Verde arrives in Palmi (RC), from 21st to 23rd July, for the 8th stage of its journey. Legambiente’s historic campaign in defense of Italian waters and coasts will bring to the forefront in the Calabrian stage the theme of water quality and the fight against illegal building.
Several events are scheduled that will start on Sunday at 5:00 pm at Hotel South Paradise, with the educational workshops “Discovering the sea”. On the afternoons of the 21st and 22nd, the educational workshops “Discovering the sea” will take place at Hotel South Paradise. On Monday, July 22nd at 9:00 pm at the Villa Comunale in Palmi, where the public meeting entitled “The fight against illegal building: a priority for Italy” will be held.
The morning of Tuesday 23 July will be dedicated to the press conference to present the monitoring data of Goletta Verde along the Calabrian coast. Appointment at 10:30 at the Costa Viola Yacht Club on the Lungomare Costa Viola in Palmi.
“During the Calabrian leg of Goletta Verde we will delve into some of the issues connected to the protection of the sea, beaches and coasts, through monitoring water quality and the battle against inadequate purification and illegal discharges – declares Anna Parretta, president of Legambiente Calabria. We also dedicated a public meeting to illegal building, which we believe to be a priority issue for Calabria and for the entire country, as it disfigures places of great beauty and harms the regional economy. Protecting the environment, rigorously and incisively, through a broad strategy that takes into account the interconnection between the various environmental struggles, must be a priority for our Region”.
