The IIS Verona Trento Majorana of Messina became the provincial champion of Baskin in the final with the boys of IIS La Farina. A team that of IIS Verona Trento Majorana born this year, with so much force and great enthusiasm to grow, to carry out the values of this wonderful discipline, promoting inclusion and guaranteeing everyone’s right to approach sport. In fact, Baskin is an innovative sporting activity based on the game of basketball, designed to allow boys and girls with and without disability to play together in the same team. It is a fusion between “basketball” and “inclusive”, highlighting its main objective of social inclusion through sport. Baskin is characterized by some specific rules that guarantee the participation of all players, regardless of their physical or cognitive skills. For example, the playing field is structured in a different way, with multiple baskets, and each player has a specific role that adapts to his skills. This allows to enhance individual skills and to promote interaction and cooperation between the participants. Thanks to Baskin, sport becomes a powerful tool for socialization and personal development, encouraging respect, collaboration and equity values.

“Thanks to the teachers of motor sciences – explains the school manager Simonetta di Prima – who led the students with overwhelming enthusiasm, to the provincial coordinator of Ed. Physics Prof. Vicenza Collorà, to the technician Filippo Frisenda and all those who have contributed to making this experience special. I am happy to congratulate our students and teachers for reaching the prestigious title of provincial baskin champions. This result is the result of teamwork characterized by dedication, enthusiasm and great inclusive ability, fundamental values for our institution. I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks to all those who made this success possible: to teachers for their tireless guide and motivation, for their technical and human support. Special thanks also goes to all the boys, true protagonists of this exciting adventure, who have shown how sport can unite us all, each with their own skills “.
