A beautiful mobility experience in Cuers, France, for ten pupils of the Comprehensive Institute n.2 has ended a few days ago “Salvo D’Acquisto” by Messina directed by Pietro Ruggeribut resonance is still strong throughout the school community. The sunny and laughing places of Provence made the background to the enthusiasm and curiosity of the ten children, aware from the beginning that theirs would not have been a simple school trip but an immersion in the school system and in the daily routine of the college “La Ferrage” of Cuers who hosted them.
The synergy relationship with the partner school tells the TEam Erasmus+, He dates back to the last school year, when three teachers of the French Institute chose us to organize a preparatory visit in view of a mobility with their pupils in the name of quality. From there a profitable relationship made of meetings, emails, messages to make a partnership that has already started taking its first fruits. And so on March 31, young Messina pupils were preparing to live their first mobility abroad. A unique experience also for the school, which only a few years earlier had organized two formations abroad for staff as the first approach to a program for them still little explored. The impact that arose, not only on direct participants but also on the rest of the school community, pushed the Erasmus of the Institute to work on the creation of a mobility that also involved pupils, protagonists and active agents of their growth and training.

As reported by the Erasmus+ Team of the Institute, the choice of the French school could no longer be appropriate to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the “Be well at school” project, Psycho-physical well-being, social learning, emotional growth, which has also contributed a progressive work plan and divided into several phases, as can be seen from the ebook our mobility in 7 steps.

The four days of mobility offered the boys a rich and engaging program. The typical days in the French school have provided for a series of structured activities alternating with moments of learning, collaboration, exploration provided to promote the physical and intellectual well -being of the students. The social learning of the very young pupils played a crucial role, encouraging socialization, empathy and mutual respect, strengthening their ability to interact in a positive way with the world that surrounds them and breaking down the language barriers in the face of the desire to communicate. Being hosted by the families of their French peers, then, participating in their daily lives and observing their close interactions and values, gave them the opportunity to know the culture of the country from the inside, promoting the development of intercultural understanding towards different ways of thinking and living. There was no lack of opportunities to explore the beauty of the territory of Cuers, Tolone and surroundings, with walks in nature, visits to places of cultural interest, shopping and moments of leisure in the open air, experiences that have contributed to strengthening their sense of belonging to a group and creating indelible memories.

Back in Messina, these ten young “ambassadors” have brought with them a luggage full of new knowledge and skills: they have learned that the opening towards new cultures and attention to emotional and social well -being can contribute to their personal growth and enrich their life and their relationships. Therefore, they will promote them among their peers and schoolmates, offering them a new awareness to face the challenges with greater serenity and interact in a positive way with the world around them.
