A group of 61 migrants, mostly made up of families, landed independently last night in Bianco, on the Ionian coast of Reggio Emilia. The migrants, who sailed up the Ionian Sea on board a sailing boat seized by the Coast Guard, are mostly of Middle Eastern nationality.
The new arrivals were rescued and sent to Roccella Jonica where, inside the port area, they will find hospitality in the tensile structure managed by the Red Cross, the municipal civil protection and a group of doctors from Doctors Without Borders to undergo health checks and safety.
