Everything as expected. There is money to increase the attendance fees of city councilors. And they are also there for the councilors of the six constituencies. It will be a temporal coincidence – or perhaps actually the fruit of that unwritten pact which is spoken of at Palazzo Zanca, but which no one confirms -, but just ten days after the green light from the city council for the dual role of Except Puccio – general director of the Municipality and now also of the Metropolitan City – was the proposed resolution was “baked out” just yesterday, signed by the mayor Federico Basile and to be submitted to the Chamber, for the approval of a budget change different from the others. In fact, it is the change in the budget that unlocks the funds with which the increase in attendance fees can be financed.
Indeed, it will be – as happened in Palermo at the beginning of the month – about a real doubling: from 56 euros gross per session it will go to 112 euros. A figure destined to increase further from January: from 2024, in fact, the mayor’s compensation will be aligned with that of the president of the Region and, therefore, the compensation of the deputy mayor, the councilors, the president of the city council and the city and municipal councilors.
When Basile’s salary reaches 13,800 euros per month, the councilors’ fee will reach just over 140 euros per session. The same goes for the district councilors: from the 28 euros per session expected today they will go, with the budget change, to 56 euros and, from the beginning of 2024, to around seventy.
