He was released from prison 7 months ago, in June 2025, but the news only leaked yesterday. Gregorio Bellocco, one of the “heavyweights” of the Rosarno clan of the same name, has left prison after 20 years of imprisonment.

Klaus Davi broke the news through his social channels. Bellocco, in fact, has been on probation for two days, after 7 months of special surveillance which was applied to him following his release.

Arrested in 2005 in a bunker in the Rosarno countryside

Born in 1955, known as “u lupu solitariu” or “testazza”, Gregorio Bellocco led the ‘ndrangheta family of Rosarno for about ten years as a fugitive. Since 1996, in fact, he has ended up on the list of the most dangerous fugitives in Italy and leading the clan after the arrest of his cousin Umberto known as “assu ‘i mazzi”, which occurred the year before. Bellocco was arrested in a raid by the Carabinieri on 16 February 2005 while he was in a bunker in the Rosarno countryside protected by his family. In the years preceding his capture, the police forces had narrowed the circle around the fugitive, but until 2005 they were unable to catch him. Bellocco had escaped arrest in December 2003, when the Carabinieri managed to locate a house in Anoia, in the Piana di Gioia Tauro, where the fugitive was apparently hiding. On that occasion, the military arrested Carmelo Bellocco, Gregorio’s cousin, who over the years became the regent of the gang.
Bellocco had become untraceable after a precautionary custody order had been issued against him in 1994 as part of the “Isola Felice” operation conducted by the ROS carabinieri against the same Rosarno gang.
