From 4 November, 1,177,597 families will find the first 500 euros credited to their “Dedicated to you” card and will be able to count on a second tranche of 500 euros which will be paid starting from April 2027. The INPS identifies the beneficiaries not on the basis of an application submission or click day but automatically among families made up of at least three members and with an ISEE of less than 15,000 euros, without other contributions social inclusion or poverty support. The budget law for 2026 has provided for an overall ad hoc allocation of 1 billion euros, equal to 500 million euros for each of the years 2026 and 2027.
«The “Dedicated to You” card brings with it a message of inclusion and attention to the fragilities of which there are many. And it shows that the State does not forget people”, underlined the Minister of Labor and Social Policies, Marina Calderone. For this measure, introduced in 2023 on the initiative of the Ministries of Agriculture, Economy and Labor in collaboration with Poste Italiane, INPS and Anci, the Meloni government has allocated a total of 2.7 billion euros and, for the first time, has renewed it for a two-year period (2026 and 2027).
Lollobrigida: «It’s not an electoral move»
«With this we are not erasing poverty and it is not an electoral move, as was said for the car tax – said the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida – The elections are scheduled for October, but they could be called earlier. It is up to the President of the Republic to convene them at the appropriate time, I will not go into the merits.” And to those who mentioned a first edition of the card with spending forecasts also for petrol, Lollobrigida replied: “it was an extraordinary one-off”.
On top of the “full price” increases, he then recalled, “there were cuts in excise duties and tax credits for farmers. Here, given resources, we have imagined an effective and efficient measure that sees a return to the Italian system of 90% of resources through purchases of quality made in Italy basic food products. We continue to support the purchasing power of Italians and, at the same time, to enhance the work of our agricultural and agri-food supply chains, encouraging the purchase of quality products, PDO and PGI.” Furthermore, Lollobrigida highlighted, “managing to add private resources to public resources thanks to the agreements stipulated with top brands in modern distribution”.
The additional 15% discount in supermarkets
Card holders will be able to benefit from an additional 15% discount, which can be combined with the promotions already present in the participating stores of the chains that have signed the agreements: Federdistribuzione, Ancc Coop, Ancd Conad and Lidl.
The Anci asks for the extension to singles
The president of the Anci, mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, «expresses satisfaction with this measure which gives families a breathing space against inflation and hopes for its extension to single-member households: from the comparison with the territory we see that even singles and the elderly are in great need of support». Poste Italiane, which is present in 98% of the municipalities of the Peninsula, specifies that a large part of the disbursements (34%) is concentrated in areas with 20,000/50,000 inhabitants, while 18% of the disbursements go to families residing in small municipalities.
