The Nursind nursing professions union denounces yet another attack in Arghillà prison. «On Saturday afternoon shift – we read in a note signed by the territorial secretary, Vincenzo Marrari – an inmate hit a nurse who was delivering therapy to him in an unprovoked manner, with a slap in the face». The operator completed his work shift regularly. «The Arghillà prison, with significant overcrowding, is becoming a “depot” for problematic inmates who – Marrari reports – have created disorder in the other regional institutions. The regional management of the penitentiary administration continues to frustrate the efforts of the ASP of Reggio which, despite continuous investments in the sector, is in continuous difficulty in finding human resources due to logistical criticalities”. Hence the appeal to the prison administration to “guarantee control and security” and “intervene decisively in the regional organization before irreparable events occur”.
