Two rapid and decisive interventions allowed the Carabinieri of the Piana di Gioia Tauro to block as many high-risk situations, restoring safety to two women persecuted by their former partners despite the precautionary measures in force.

The first episode occurred in Varapodio, where a man already subjected to an approach ban and monitored with an electronic bracelet entered his ex-partner’s home, violating the provisions of the Judicial Authority. The immediate intervention of the soldiers of the local station avoided more serious consequences. The man was arrested and taken under house arrest, at the disposal of the judiciary.

In San Ferdinando, however, the police intervened after another man allegedly followed his ex-partner, ignoring the ban on approaching her. Also in this case, the timeliness of the weapon made it possible to interrupt potentially dangerous behavior and save the woman.

The episodes confirm the centrality of the “Red Code” and the importance of the daily work of the police in combating gender violence. A constant defense which, thanks to rapid and targeted interventions, continues to represent a fundamental barrier against situations that could quickly degenerate into tragedies.
