There will not be a single list between the Democratic Party and the 5 Star Movement in the elections for the renewal of the Provincial Council, called for 12 December. The discussions between the two political forces have been intense, but from what has filtered in the last few hours, the two sides are oriented towards running separately in the electoral round. The Five Star Movement aims to elect one or more of its own representatives in the assembly, also because this time there could be all the numbers.
In fact, the Movement has 3 councilors in the Vibo Municipal Council, where the bulk of the game is played (in consideration of the weighted vote expected for the provincial elections, which gives greater weight to municipalities with more inhabitants) as well as representatives in various important municipal assemblies, such as Mileto, Rombiolo and San Calogero. And if the centre-right decided not to compete (this hypothesis, among many, is also being examined) the path to the provincial seats would be clear for the Five Star Movement.
It is not yet known whether, if elected to the Council, the Five Star Movement will lend support to the president, Corrado L’Andolina, at the center of the crisis that has been unfolding for some time and culminated in the mass resignation of the councilors, who anticipated the return to the polls.
