It’s a triumph for the Olympics in prime time that gives Rai 2 another magical night of ratings. The public is increasingly attracted by the competitions underway in Paris: 4 million 130 thousand spectators (24.6% share) followed the swimming competition yesterday evening, Monday 29 July, from 9.04 pm to 10.08 pm, which saw the Italian Thomas Cecconi snatch the Olympic title from their opponents and win the second Italian gold in the 100 backstroke. The audience rose significantly to 26.8% share and 4 million 276 thousand spectators, immediately after, for the fencing competitions which ended at 10.41 pm with the women’s individual sabre and men’s individual foil. There were peaks of over 31% share and 5 million viewers (peak 31.7% share and 5 million 325 thousand at 9.38 pm). The 15.7% share (1 million 473 thousand viewers) recorded by the live commentary programme of the races «Notti Olimpiche» in the second evening was also excellent.. Big numbers for Rai 2 since the morning with a net 16% share from 8.54 to 12.56 and a total of 11.7% share obtained from live sports broadcasts from 13.30 to 18.14. In particular, the 15.8% share (581 thousand viewers) for the Beach Volleyball matches at 9.45 stands out; the 20.2% share (846 thousand viewers) for the Archery matches proposed from 10.5 to 10.45; 20.5% share (1 million 303 thousand) for Swimming in progress from 11.32 to 12.09, 20% share for Rowing starting at 12.02 and, finally, 17.2% share obtained by the Tennis matches that started at 12.26 and were followed by 1 million 705 thousand fans. In the afternoon, women’s boxing did well, obtaining 14.5% share (1 million 382 thousand viewers) and, from 16.44 to 16.49, the Judo matches that recorded 14.8% share (1 million 241 thousand viewers). Artistic Gymnastics on air from 18.29 to 20.11, kept 1 million 703 thousand viewers in front of the TV, equal to 14.9% share.
Returning to prime time, on Rai 1 the third season of «Nero a metà» obtained 1 million 228 thousand viewers and an 8.3% share, while on Rai 3 «Kilimangiaro Estate» reached 3.5% share with 550 thousand viewers.
Constant victory of «Reazione a catena» in the pre-evening, on the flagship network, with 20.9% share and 2 million 616 thousand, while in access prime time «Techetechetè» obtains 11.1% share with 1 million 829 thousand viewers. On Rai 3, in the same segment, «Blob» records 4.4% share with 652 thousand viewers, «Caro marziano» 4.2% with 958 thousand viewers who rise to 1 million 306 thousand for the soap «Un posto al sole» at 7.9% share.
In the daytime of Rai 1 «Unomattina Estate» records 15.1% share with 644 thousand viewers, «Camper in viaggio» 13.2% with 796 thousand viewers, «Camper» with 13.1% share and 1 million 285 thousand viewers. In the late evening on Rai 1, good «Cose Nostre» which records 6.1% share with 428 thousand viewers.
On Rai 3, «Quante storie» obtained a 4.2% share (390 thousand viewers), «Di là dal fiume e in gli alberi» 4.4% (367 thousand), «Overland 20» 6.4% share with 532 thousand viewers and «Geo Magazine» 7.4% share with 653 thousand viewers.
