Reggina is almost at the point of no return

This is the lowest point in Reggina’s history. What was once a phrase that remained confined to the background now deserves the greatest possible visibility. Indeed, it would be appropriate for it to be written in large letters on the blackboards in the locker room and offices of Sant’Agata. A sort of shock therapy that gives the opportunity to understand if there is at least a bit of pride in emerging from what is incredible is happening. The third Serie D championship was already a unique negative in the history of Amaranth, now things seem to be getting worse every day. Yet another embarrassing performance against Athletic Palermo increases the negative data to be put on file.
In the last five home games, in addition to the second team of the Sicilian capital, Gelbison, Vigor Lamezia and Nuova Igea Virtus have played at Granillo. Important realities and absolutely worthy of respect for their size, but Reggina should be at another level. If today it is not able to be so it is because there is someone or something inadequate.
There is less and less time to understand whether it is the new technical guide (considering that Trocini has already paid with his dismissal), the team individually or in its entirety, the management or the ownership. Or maybe all four. The most pressing need is to give ourselves hope at a sporting level. The technical aspect is the one on which we can intervene immediately: perhaps by making choices on the squad and bringing players to Reggio as soon as possible who can help put on a more dignified show than what we have seen up to now. Then one day there will be time to find out why the strongest squad in the championship, in a tournament of mediocre level, turned into a disaster.
Trocini’s dismissal and Torrisi’s arrival have been of little use at the moment. 4 points in 4 games with the Catania coach, 8 points in 8 games with the previous management. No glimmer of hope in the performances offered, considering that there was an immediate suspicion that Sancataldo’s victory was episodic and that in Acireale the home team’s tiredness had played a decisive role in that aggressive second half. At the moment there is the feeling that while everything is falling apart, society is moving with its usual phlegm.
Also because Reggina either reverses course as soon as possible or seriously risks finding itself fighting to avoid Excellence. A competent club should be able to emerge as best as possible from the difficulties of an amateur championship. We are already very late.
