Negotiations are progressing with the Rizzetta group, which would be bound by a confidentiality agreement. These are crucial times at Amaranth: Ballarino has decided to sell the company, but on his own terms. The dialogue between the parties is increasingly coming to life. The operation could close on the basis of around one million euros, a figure around which we are working. The first offer, however, was rejected, followed by a counter-proposal of sale deemed unacceptable by the Americans. In the last few hours it seems a new purchase offer has arrived, for which a response is expected and which could represent the last, in a classic “take it or leave it” scenario.
Stars and Stripes investors seem willing to wait only until the end of this week. In the event that Ballarino were to oppose it, it cannot be ruled out that they decide to leave the scene.
Meanwhile, anticipation is growing among fans and the environment, in view of possible developments. The current amaranth patron, contested by the square, should step aside. In this scenario, the presence of the new mayor Ciccio Cannizzaro also becomes fundamental and, in his interventions, he has always made it clear that Reggina deserves an economically strong owner. The Italian-American entrepreneur, owner of Campobasso, has already blocked Domenico Fracchiolla, sporting director of Reggiana. The latter has his contract expiring with the Granata club and would, in fact, enthusiastically go down to the shores of the Strait. He is considered by experts to be the champion of the Lega Pro sports directors. If he were to lead the sports area of the club in via “Delle Industrie”, he would put together a high-profile team capable of winning the Serie D championship hands down. He would replace Pippo Bonanno. Instead the club manager should be Angelo Maiolo, from Reggio Calabria, with Fracchiolla in B in the Lecco experience.
Matt Rizzetta’s project is ambitious and envisages the return of the Amaranth team to Serie B within two years. This is a credible manager who makes seriousness his prerogative.
