“An educational, training and social facility will be returned to the community of Gallico after a long – too – long time after its closure” – with these words the acting metropolitan mayor Carmelo Versace expresses satisfaction for the delivery of the works of the Gallico Superiore ‘Umberto Boccioni’ complex, adding that “it is thanks to the perseverance of the municipal administration, branded Falcomatà, of the councilors who intercepted the funding and certainly of the driving force of the municipal councilors of the northern area who, in these years, characterized by difficulties and bureaucratic problems inherent to the project, they have never given up on what was a battle of civilization. Thanks also to the professionalism and dedication of the teaching and school staff, and the availability of the students and their families, for having accepted alternative situations in these years, which in any case have never compromised the children’s educational path”.
“An important intervention of 3 million of ‘Urban Agenda’ funds – underlined Versace – which will not only concern a seismic adaptation, but will be carried out through the demolition and reconstruction of the school, according to the new seismic criteria, and which will allow the structural layout through a horizontal development with 15 classrooms, laboratories, library and a spacious lecture hall”.
“It is a sustainable project from an energy and environmental point of view, which will include a zero consumption building, with an idea of an institute with an aggregative approach, following the dictates of the Ithaca Protocol. In fact, it will also be accessible and usable to the territory, thanks to its openness and functionality, outside of school and service hours”.
“All we can do is wish the company carrying out the works well, so that they can be delivered, as planned, in summer 2027” – concluded the note.
