The car thefts that have occurred in recent months in the municipality of Gyrifalco have raised the threshold of attention from the police. An unusual phenomenon, that of car thefts in inland centres, but which in recent times does not seem to spare traditionally “free” areas. Unfortunately, the parish priest of Girifalco and vicar forane of the diocese of Catanzaro-Squillace did not escape the annoying crime Don Antonio De Gori who reported the theft of his Fiat Panda to the soldiers of the Girifalco Company. The theft occurred in the small square behind the church of Santa Maria delle Nevi, therefore in a central area of the town, passed by vehicles and people at all hours. Investigations began immediately to trace the perpetrator or perpetrators of the theft, also in an attempt to find the vehicle. The police, in fact, have acquired images from both public and private cameras that are present in the area, in the hope of identifying the thieves. It is likely that these are thieves on the move who hope to resell the parts: Fiat Pandas are among the most “popular” cars.
