Five Siracusa Calcio fans were reached by a DASPO provision issued by the Crotone Police Commissioner, Renato Panvino, after the incidents that occurred during the Crotone-Syracuse match on 20 September, valid for the Lega Pro – Group C championship.
During the match, the Syracuse fans – in an attempt not to be recognized – had lit six smoke bombs inside the sector reserved for them, endangering the safety of the other spectators and the stewards.
Thanks to the images of the surveillance cameras of the “Ezio Scida” stadium, the Digos of Crotone, in collaboration with the Syracuse Police Headquarters, managed to identify those responsible, who were then reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The DASPOs, which last between one and five years, prohibit five fans from accessing all Italian sports facilities. One of them was also required to report to the police station during the matches.
The provision is part of the prevention and safety plan in stadiums wanted by Police Commissioner Panvino to ensure that football matches take place in a peaceful and safe atmosphere.
