There is no peace in the maritime connections with the Aeolian Islands. There are frequent inconveniences, protests and reports on the management of the service. After the weakening of the Naples-Aeolian route, and the replacement of the “Laurana” with the less adequate “Pietro Novelli”, the reduction of trips from two to one per week, another critical issue emerges. It is reported by Giacomo Biviano, former president of the Lipari city council, who points the finger at the chronic inadequacy of the “Filippo Lippi” ship.
According to Biviano, “Lippi” not only has an extremely small garage – just 130 linear meters – but also operates on a route that has already suffered the cancellation of a weekly service: the one on Tuesdays from Milazzo at 5.30pm and on Wednesdays from Lipari at 7am.
A cut which, he underlines, is creating daily inconvenience for residents, workers and commuters, putting into difficulty those who have to transport goods, go to medical appointments or travel for family and professional reasons.
