The city is ready for the first round of the “Beach Cross Mediterranee 2023” which will be held on September 10th, and will then be followed by two other stages in Marina di Gioiosa Jonica (November 12th) and Roccella Jonica (November 26th), thus creating a exciting competition for motocross riders from central and southern Italy.
The event is organized by the motoclub 299 led by president Angela Muzzupappa and it will take place on the beach of Villaggio Napeto, in Marinella. It will coincide with the national motorbike rally which will take place on 9 and 10 September, creating an atmosphere of pure motorcycling passion. Free practice will begin on Sunday at 9, followed by timed practice which will determine the starting position of the riders during the races. After the preparatory phases, the start of race 1 of all categories present and, immediately after the lunch break, race 2, always with the participation of all categories; everything will then culminate with the “Supercampione” race, which will bring together the best three riders in each category to determine the absolute champion of the day. The awards ceremony will follow and celebrate the successes and talent of the participants.
Pilots from Calabria, Sicily and Puglia are already signing up and among the prominent names is the Apulian Matteo Del Coco, winner of 7 titles at the Italian Supermarecross internationals (in the photo), including the recent victory in the MX1 category. Del Coco will face strong competition, including the Sicilians Manfredi Caruso and Simone D’Agata, both from Catania and with a great fighting spirit, the Calabrian Marco Scali and the other Sicilian Luca Marotta. In short, it promises to be an event rich in technical and spectacular content. The event, curated by the organizing motoclub, the 299, together with all the staff of the Co. Re. Calabria of the Italian Motorcycling Federation, will create an unforgettable day for motocross enthusiasts and for spectators who want to enjoy the show offered by the most talented drivers.
