The ‘village’ was inaugurated this eveningNaxos Street Food Fest‘ #UnMareDiGusto. The event, signed by Eventivo, in partnership with the Municipality of Giardini Naxos, opens the spaces to citizens, visitors arriving from the province and other cities and tourists who are in Sicily. Because the key word is to deseasonalize, with opportunities that arouse interest and attendance even in the winter months. With this topic the event was born which will continue until Sunday 12 November, with the final awards ceremony for the three most popular street fooders.
“We are very happy to be in Giardini Naxos and I thank the Municipality for this synergy”, states the administrator of Eventamente and president of Confesercenti Messina, Alberto Palella. “Our format – he adds – was born with the idea of creating connections and sharing. Connections with the territories, helping to support local economic and cultural realities and sharing with the many people who attend our events and to whom we give the opportunity to be together, to have spaces for socializing, joy and music”.
The mayor of Giardini Naxos is satisfied, Giorgio Stracuzzi: “Thanks to the Eventivo format we have also put online aspects that are important to us, such as the valorisation of the territory and culture. I am grateful to my councilors for the work done, to the city council and to all those who collaborated. We will experience three intense days in the company of good gastronomic operators and with a panel of truly interesting focuses. Giardini Naxos wants to spread its rich peculiarities and make itself known beyond the renowned seaside resort that it is.”
With the Naxos Street Food Fest we are not only celebrating a wonderful moment of gastronomic culture – observes the municipal councilor for Tourism and Entertainment Fulvia Toscano – but we experience a true community celebration in which, alongside the pleasure of good food, there will be the opportunity to talk about books, cinema, tourism, the environment and the territory. In short, a special celebration in the first Greek colony of Sicily.”
For Ivano Cantello, councilor for Rural Development, Agriculture and Fisheries, it is “important to focus on events like this, just as it is essential to experiment with new solutions and methods of managing territories in coastal locations, in order to propose a high quality, seasonally adjusted tourist offer. In the coming months, other events will follow – he announces – aimed at integrating various products and services that characterize the Sicilian territory into tourist flows, so as to affirm a growth model based on innovation and environmental quality. We must give value to the extraordinary scenic, historical and cultural beauty and promote the quality of our food and wine products.”
“Big events are returning to Giardini Naxos – says the municipal councilor for Productive Activities with enthusiasm Ferdinando Croce – with the presentation of a proven and successful format, that of street food, appropriately integrated with the peculiar Naxiotian characteristic of the sea resource. With the desire to combine good food and healthy lifestyles, we have thought of moments of environmental education, aimed, for example, at cleaning the seabed and moving towards the so-called smart cities in an eco-sustainable way. These topics will be explored in special workshops aimed primarily at students of the first and second level secondary education institutions in the district”.
Giardini Street Food Fest is also music: tonight they played Luciano Fiorino with his DJ set, followed by the band’s live performance on stageThe solution’. Tomorrow at the console, in the morning, at 11.30, Daniele Sorrentiin the afternoon (at 6.30 pm) Jose DJ; at 8.30 pm live music with the ‘Topless’ and at 10.30pm ‘The Approximates’. Sunday: at 9pm on stage ‘Diamondswhile the DJ sets of the day will be curated by Santino Villari.
The Giardini Naxos event is sponsored by Arpa Sicilia, with the participation of the ‘Caminiti – Trimarchi’ Higher Education Institute of Giardini Naxos; of the ‘Salvatore Pugliatti’ Higher Secondary Education Institute of Taormina; of ‘Ciak Scuola Film Fest’ and Youth Council of Giardini Naxos.
The opening hours of the event are Saturday 11th from 11.30am to 3pm and from 6pm to 1am; Sunday 12th from 11.30am to midnight.
ROADS AND PARKING – During the ‘Naxos Street Food Fest’ it is possible to park at the Anas car park, located at the exit of the Giardini Naxos motorway junction, 200 meters towards Catania; on Via Consolare Valeria; on via Tysandros, reachable via via Vittorio Emanuele, via Discesa Giordano, via Naxos and via delle Lampare.
Parking will be free. Vehicular traffic will be prohibited from Via Dalmazia to Vico delle Lampare.
The parking ban for unauthorized persons will start from the intersection of via Zara to the intersection of Via Dalmazia and for the entire via Dalmazia.
