Three Nebrodi municipalities launch the “green” challenge

Works worth over 2 million euros were awarded relating to forestation projects in the territories of the Metropolitan City, in particular in the municipalities of Militello Rosmarino, San Marco d’Alunzio and San Fratello, financed with Pnrr resources.
In Militello Rosmarino two areas are involved between the Scurzi and Licò districts and a third in the Maillone area where there is a landfill that has been abandoned for years, close to the Rosmarino valley. The intervention involves the thickening and reforestation of the areas, over an area of ​​33 hectares with the planting of over 29,00 specimens of trees and shrubs. The contract was awarded to the company “ALP Consorzio Stabile” of Milan, first in the ranking in the negotiated procedure for an amount of 912,602.36 euros.
In San Marco d’Alunzio the intervention concerns an area of ​​just over 30 hectares in the Marrazza area, divided into different areas crossed by the Difesa valley, in which the planting of 24,456 broad-leaved tree plants and 6,114 shrubby plants is planned. The contract for the municipality of Alunto was won by the company “Cogeca srl” of Agrigento, for a contractual amount of 586,589.65 plus VAT.
Finally, the San Fratello intervention concerns an area covering approximately 24 hectares between the towns of Lineri, Dell’Occhio and Ciccaldo, with the recovery of an extensive landfill area that has already been reclaimed.
