The regional councillor for tourism, John Calabresechaired a meeting with the top management of Unindustria Calabria.
The initiative, which took place at the Regional Citadel in Catanzaro, was attended by the president of Unindustria Calabria, Aldo Ferrara, the president of the Tourism section of Unindustria, Cristina Gazzaruso, the director Dario Lamanna, the director of the Cosenza territorial office, Rosario Branda, the general manager of the Tourism department of the Calabria Region, Antonella Cauteruccio.
“Tourism – Calabrese began – is our strong point. Tourism activities can contribute to the socio-economic development of our Region. So that’s why I immediately accepted the request of Unindustria Calabria to set up a permanent table on the tourism supply chain to create opportunities and mainly strengthen the tourism network”.
“The meeting with the Calabrian councilor – said Cristina Gazzaruso – was very fruitful. We had asked as Unidustria Calabria the establishment of a permanent technical table on tourism. The councilor said he agreed and was available, sharing the need to start dealing in a more in-depth and concrete way with a strategic asset for our Region that can live off tourism all year round”. “We believe it is important to define the brand “Destination Calabria” – stated the president of Unindustria Calabria, Aldo Ferrara-. In our Agenda Calabria document, the tourism sector has a central role. We have positively evaluated the contents of the Zes strategic plan which, as Unindustria had indicated, sees among the nine sectors to be strengthened also the tourism sector, which is vocational for the South and our Region”.
“It is our duty to act concretely – concluded Councilor Calabrese – by creating this table that will help us structure far-sighted interventions for the future of our Region”
