The Tyrrhenian town confirms its tourist attractiveness. The first data relating to the tourist tax which gives the pulse of the numbers hosted in accommodation facilities also record an increase compared to the record season of 2023. Numbers destined to grow because, if the situation has crystallized until the end of August, those of September are still missing.
The payments to postal current accounts that will be acquired shortly are taken into account: «But already at this moment – the commissioners point out Vito Turco, Roberto Micucci and Antonio Calenda – compared to the definitive data for 2023, an increase can be noted. Although still partial, compared to the amount confiscated last year, equal to 746 thousand euros, until August 2024 we are at 748 thousand euros”. Therefore, it goes without saying that there was an increase.
Those who feared that the dissolution of the body due to mafia infiltration could weaken the local tourist industry must think again. Regardless of political or judicial events, the brand linked to the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea is not affected: it being understood that Tropea doesn’t just act as a backdrop because it always remains the protagonist. «The data that we will acquire shortly – confirms the commissioner triad from the Municipality – will certainly increase numbers and revenues even further. The dissolution had absolutely no impact, like the bankruptcy of the German tourism giant Fti Touristik which also had a strong impact on the Tropea area.”
