The electricity bill for the typical protected family increases by 18.6% in the fourth quarter of 2023. Arera communicates this, underlining that the expenditure on electricity for the typical family in the current year (between 1 January and 31 December 2023) will be approximately 889.60 euros, down by 32.7 % compared to the equivalent 12 months of the previous year (1 January – 31 December 2022).
«It is true that energy prices are not biting with the aggressiveness of a year ago but the fluctuations are indicative of an energy sector still looking for its own balance, with inevitable consequences in the bill also due to the seasonality we go through meeting”, states the president of Arera, Stefano Besseghini. «Even without the stimulus of high prices, it is important in this winter season to pay close attention to limiting consumption and, as far as possible, to developing energy efficiency investments», he adds.
