The failure to launch the school canteen has inevitably tainted a start to the year that was essentially without critical issues until a few days ago. And the council led by mayor Enzo Romeo inevitably ended up in the dock.
On the other hand, in late October, what are the reasons that are still keeping the service at a standstill? After some parents raised the issue yesterday, going to the Municipality, the opposition did not hesitate to ride it, even going so far as to ask for the resignation of the competent councilor.
In this regard, yesterday, when asked by Southern Gazetteit was the holder of the Education delegation Vania Continanza, who provided the necessary clarifications. «I would like to point out – the councilor blurted out – that what happened is absolutely not attributable to the work of the offices of this sector which carried out, within the expected times and methods, all the preliminary operations for the start of the school canteen, even before the start of the teaching activities». From what emerged, rather, «the gear got stuck – continues the councilor – in the transmission of the preparatory documents for the activation of the service, between the Municipality, the ASP and the contracting company, due to issues of a purely technical nature, which were not foreseeable and linked, in certain aspects, to the restructuring of the schools itself, which has just been completed. I believe, however, that everything will be resolved within a few days and families will also be able to use this service, together with the others already active.” Words of regret from Councilor Continanza, who was quick to point out that she had worked all summer in an attempt “to restart the school year without any hitches. I remember that the students – although this is their right – had books on their desks – he further specified – at the beginning of the lessons; students with disabilities were able to benefit from the specialist assistance service from the very early stages and the teaching, as a whole, was organized by the offices, brilliantly led by the manager Domenico Libero Scuglia, in the correct times and ways, with scruple and competence”.
Meanwhile, yet another tile hits the students of the hamlets. Mayor Enzo Romeo, in fact, was also forced to close the nursery school of the Cementificio complex in Vibo Marina yesterday, following the discovery of some rodents, announced by the school director Tiziana Furlano.
