The Iranian delegation has come to Rome, which today will participate in nuclear interviews with the United States. The Foreign Minister and Iran, Abbas Araghchi’s leader, arrived in Italy as reported by the Iranian press agencies, who published a video that portrays him as he lands from the plane.

“Iran has always shown, with good faith and a sense of responsibility, its commitment to diplomacy as a civil half to solve problems, in full compared to the high interests of the Iranian nation”: today the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry writes it Esmail Baghaei.

“We are aware that this is not an easy path, but we face every step with our eyes open, based also on past experiences”, he adds, remembering that “today, in the historic city of Rome, the second round of indirect interviews between Iran and the United States will be held, with the mediation of the Foreign Minister of Oman”.

The Iranian state TV reports that the interviews of Rome between Iran and the United States on Tehran’s nuclear power will start at 10:30. “The approximate time announced for the beginning of the interviews is Saturday at noon, now Iranian”, or 10:30 in Italy, has declared a special correspondent of the state television from Italy.

Before the start of the meeting, the Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani met his Iranian counterpart Araghchi: the Farnesina announces it. Today the correspondent of Tehran will take part in nuclear meetings with the United States, mediated by Oman.

Tehran: ‘We need clarity on the intentions of the Americans’

“Iran’s requests in nuclear interviews with the United States, including the removal of sanctions, are clear: however, given the contradictory positions taken by several US officials in the last few days, we expect the American part to provide explanations on the matter and remove the serious ambiguity relating to the intentions and seriousness of the United States”: the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail, said it, Baghaei, without providing further details.

“Iran is determined to preserve and assert its legal and legitimate right to the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, in compliance with the commitments made in the recognized international framework,” added Baghaei, cited by the Erna, before departure for Rome last night for the second round of the nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington.

Tehran wants ‘a balanced agreement, not a surrender’

Ali Shamkhani, political councilor of the Iranian Supreme Guide Ali Khamenei, said that Iran aims to achieve “a balanced agreement, not a surrender” with the United States, on the occasion of the second round of interviews between the two countries in progress today in Rome.

In one message on X Shamkhani has specified that Iranian negotiators participate in the interviews with full authority and that the intent is to reach an agreement with Washington based on nine fundamental principles: seriousness, guarantees, balance, removal of sanctions, speed, facilitation of investments, no reference to the Libyan or Emiratine models (complete dismantling of the nuclear program), negotiated, like Israel.

Tajani: ‘We support the mediation of Oman’

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani yesterday met Foreign Minister Omanita Badr Albusaidi, who arrived in Rome in the role of mediator for the new round of high -level interviews between the United States and Iran.

The first US-Iran interviews on the nuclear program were held in Mascate on April 12 at the residence of Minister Albusiadi. At the request of the parties, the second session of the interviews is now hosted in Italy. In the meeting, Tajani greeted the mediation action carried out by Oman: “There is total support of Italy to the mediation of Oman between the USA and Iran”. Minister Omanita expressed profound appreciation for the availability offered by the Italian government to facilitate dialogue between the parties in a peaceful and productive environment.

“In front of the numerous political and securitarian challenges in a context of strong regional volatility, Italy is ready to accompany any further initiative in favor of peace and international stability,” said Tajani. On the Italian side, the hope that these interviews could imprint a decisive acceleration to the negotiation between the US administration and the Iranian government for the identification of a diplomatic solution necessary for the stability of the entire Middle East were therefore expressed.

A theme that is at the center of the Italian diplomatic action, starting from the constant contacts of Minister Tajani with the US administration, with the Iranian counterpart Araghchi and to the frequent interlocutions with the general manager of the AIEA GROSSI.
